Life is sweet
and I am not just talking about the leftover sugar high from Easter. Our two Jewish children got an Easter basket each from our nanny, who does it because she can't help herself. She is unbelievably kind. We had a wonderful dinner with Cathie and Sam and their 11 year old son, Ben. Ben and his friend Silas had made these cool paper Easter baskets and filled them with, you guessed it, chocolate. The boys had also colored 20 eggs and hidden them around the first floor for Samantha and Joshua. They were so sweet. They had clearly put a lot of thought into where they put the eggs, because they were all within Sam's reach and many within Josh's reach.
Today, Samantha asked me to help her tie a necklace. I asked her if it was for me, and she said yes, then she said no, it was for someone else. Oh, okay. So I tie it up and tell her where to find a box to put it in. She comes back with a box, grinning hugely, and on it is a message, "for Amy from ..." She did make the necklace for me, the little imp! I think it was a very sweet way to give it to me.
Joshua is doing well with his potty training, except I had to wash his fire truck. He came to me with his little grin and proudly says, "I peed in the fire truck!" It is difficult to know what to do. I say I don't like cleaning the fire truck and I want him to use the potty, but I am also glad he noticed he did something. I think he did know it wasn't the right place, he just wanted to tease me. He has a wild sense of humor.

And to think all of these years I hesitated to do anything for Easter for the children. I am glad someone was much wiser then I was. I know the children enjoyed the egg hunt, as well as the candies.
I think Joshua will be very interesting to bring up. He sure does some different things!!! Never know what to expect to read about them. Thanks for sharing these bits.
Love,Mom
