A Day In The Life

Thoughts from the trenches about raising Samantha and Joshua and assorted other living creatures.

Samantha may be eating too much cereal for her age. There is conflicting advice about how much she should be eating, none of them from particularly reliable sources (cereal box and a health web site). I called and asked Dr. Pangburn, but he didn’t call back. I’ll just cut back on the cereal, and we’ll all be happy. He better call back tomorrow, or he is really going to hear about it.

Matt and I were having a blast today watching the munchkin in her swing chair. Just today she figured out how to blow the horn and turn the mirror around. Of course, she did it over and over, which gave us a chance to sit and eat dinner. I get such a kick out of all the new things she can do every day. No wonder she gets so tired. She’s been really good about taking naps during the day lately, if I give her a chance to calm down. She slept for two hours this afternoon, and was ready to sleep some more at her regular time tonight, 8am.

I put a notebook on the table in front of her, and she pulled it onto the floor. She grabbed a pen and threw that on the floor too. She is just trying to pull it close and doesn’t realize she has to keep holding it.

The three of us, Ella, Sam and I, went for a walk this afternoon. (Very hot and muggy) I gave the end of the leash to Sam to hold and I held the middle. She chewed on it a lot, but she looked awfully cute holding the end of Ella’s leash. We had a lot of fun.
