Josh and classes. NOT

I tried taking Josh to his swim class this morning. He said he really wanted to take lessons. That is what he said. So I took him last week, with me in bathing suit ready to go in with him. No go. Screaming, crying, nothing doing is he going to touch that water. Soon as the class is over, he is playing and having a great time - IN THE WATER! He is almost swimming when he is not in class. So, Marie took him. Didn't work for her either, despite her copious amount of nanny magic. So I try again this morning. He clung to me like a burr, screamed his head off, and I lost my temper, gave up and walked off the beach with josh hanging onto my shirt screaming that he will not touch the water. Can Moms go on strike? I don't know why it makes me so mad. He will learn when he wants to. I just am tired of spending money, time and effort to get him to a class and not getting anywhere. I enrolled him a year and a half ago in gymnastics. Same thing. Would not participate. So I waited and enrolled him in swimming. Still, no go. He participates in pre-school beautifully. ARGH!

I'm so sorry that happened to you, Amy. Evidently, he is just not ready for classes. Just wait a few years, and maybe he will just be ready then. P.

Well, he was so cranky about it that after I calmed down I thought I'd have Dr. Pangburn check him out. Sure enough, he had strep. So there was some justification for him not wanting to do anything very strenuous right then.

But I am still not registering him for classes any time soon. :-)
