Here's a photo of Samantha in her dress and tiara that she wore to her winter concert at school. She was a dreidel in the "dreidel, dreidel' song. She stood in front and twirled around whenever the kindergarten class sang dreidel, dreidel. Oh my goodness. So sweet and sparkly. And could I take photos? No. Dead camera battery. Still a memory I will hold dear forever.
Sam had an incredible day to day, and this should also give you an idea of what Sam can do now that her knee pain is well managed. She had a full day at school, including gym period. She wore a short sleeved shirt and a skort because, as she says, she sweats and sweats, and you know what mom, then I sweat some more. Okay dear. I just made her bring some long pants to change into. After school she went sledding for an hour, then we went to the Y for her swimming lesson. She swam with no bubble today. I get her changed out of her swim suit and she heads off to the rock climbing room. She nearly makes it to the top too, more than once. She decides she wants to be with Ollie now so she joins them in the mat room where they build towers and chase each other around the room. We have dinner at Ollie's house and she still plays and laughs all through dinner. She doesn't really slow down until we are home and she is in bed. Oooeeee! I wish I could bottle some of that energy! She better sleep through the night tonight.
Joshua will have none of this snow stuff. He doesn't like to touch it or walk in it, and isn't keen on sitting in a sled with me on a tiny hill. THat's okay. Today he walked up and down the sidewalk while Sam went sledding. Given the way he is with water, I think he is more a beach/summer boy.
Just to update you on Josh, since it has been so long since I wrote, he is doing great. He can stack seven blocks on top of each other. He can say "out! mama, dada, ella, hamlet, nana" and some others that I can't remember right now. He loves books. I give him a book to look at when I put him down for a nap and I can hear him laughing through the baby monitor as he turns the pages. He loves "If you give a Moose a Muffin." His first favorite was "Goodnight Gorilla," which he also thinks is really funny. He loves his books, Tucker and Hamlet and moving things. He takes my silverware out of my cabinet in the dining room and puts one piece at a time on the table. If you give him a fork in the kitchen, he will bring it into the dining room and set it on the table. His curls are about 4 inches long now, blonde with reddish highlights. It is starting to look sort of frowzy, so I think it may be time for his first hair cut. I just hate to trim those gorgeous curls. He still looks all boy, though.
